Hi, I’m Amy.
Registered Nurse (RN); Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN); Master’s-prepared APRN; Nurse Practitioner (NP); Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP); Board-certified PMHNP (PMHNP-BC).
So many titles..so many acronyms…So confusing, right? Please don’t let any of these intimidate, confuse or distract you… I prefer to simply be called “Amy”…not “Nurse Amy” or “Nurse Practitioner, Amy” or “NP Amy” or “Amy, NP” & certainly not “Doctor, Amy.’”
Just “Amy.” Hi, I’m Amy, and I cannot wait to meet you.
Meet Amy…
Amy Du is a PMHNP-BC & graduated at the top of her class at Azusa Pacific University (APU) in Azusa, California in May of 2024. She has 14 years of diverse nursing experience under her belt, including both adult inpatient & child/adolescent/adult outpatient psychiatry, & child/adolescent psych residential. She also gained invaluable experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, & COVID units in the inpatient hospital setting. She still currently holds a psychiatric registered nurse position & is the proud Founder/CEO of her professional nursing corporation, Brainstorm TelePsych Nursing, Inc.!
Amy’s work has primarily been with adolescents (alongside their parent(s)/caregiver(s), struggling with symptoms associated with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). A lot of these patients also have histories of trauma & are also struggling with anxiety, depression, &/or substance-use disorders. Amy enjoys working collaboratively with parents to find the best mental health treatment plans for their adolescents & young adult children.
Amy also works with many parents individually who have children with mental health conditions & other special needs. She also treats adults with many different mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, ADHD, & more. Alongside psychiatric medication management & psychotherapy, Amy integrates holistic interventions, such as quality sleep & nutrition, regular movement, natural/herbal supplement recommendations, & psychotherapy into her treatment plans.
